This question is part of a financial management class. So view it in a financial perspective. The company uses debt in its capital structure. Money used to finance the project will be debt.

Bryon A asked:

I have my share of debt and I have been making a pretty good amount each month which is then divided up to down all my debts threw a debt management company. However one of my last debts which has not been added to my payment plan is a debt collector for a payday advance company. When I told the lady that I would add them to my management company’s plan she was insistent that they would not accept payments only the balance in full or they would proceed with further debt collection efforts. All I want to know is other than my credit which has been making huge improvements can this company really do much to me (like garnishment) or is it just the usual tough talk trying to get me to pay the whole thing off.

We broke the lease but before hand had worked out with the management what we would have to pay. They told us that after we received the bill (yes we gave them the new address) we could come in and start making payments. They said as long as we made payments they wouldn’t send it to collections. Instead we got a letter in the mail from a collections company.

What exactly is the National Debt and the National Deficit?

nellbelle7 asked:

Now, am I correct in the thinking that the deficit is the amount of overage of government spending which exceeds revenue generated?

So, what is the National Debt? Who exactly does the government owe their (our) money to? And if we have such high debt, how can we give or lend enormous amounts of money to other countries?

If anybody can explain this to me in simple terms (I don’t have a finance degree, I have an English degree) then you get 10 pts!
Thanks, Nick.

Who is this debt owed? Or is it too many creditors to mention?

Wouldn’t it be nice if the Federal Government could declare bankruptcy and wipe the slate clean?
